HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteers from Denver, Colorado on a visit to rural Liberian schools. "We were amazed at the teachers' commitment to the students. Although it is impossible to separate the long list of needs, a top priority is developing a trained and adequately paid teacher force to begin the process of meeting critical needs of the children."
-Sue Jackson, Volunteer Educational Consultant

Today, HCA continues its ongoing mission to improve literacy in rural Liberia.  Accomplishments include a successful teacher-training workshop and literacy pilot program in 2008 for Bong County (40 schools/12,000 students), and opening the first-ever public library in 2009. The organization's 2010 goals include building a second library, conducting advanced teacher training, and providing students scholarships.  Your contributions will help achieve these goals.
