OUR APPROACH
 |
The University of Liberia's library has a critical need for books and computers, after being looted in the recent civil war. Hope for Children of Africa has donated and delivered boxes of college-level textbooks and computers provided through the generosity of Americans like you to help fill these empty library shelves. |
Hope for Children of Africa has a clear and unique goal:
Support sustainable projects in partnership with African villages to create educational and empowering opportunities.
HOW?
A Community-Based Strategy
HCA works with local village leadership to enable sustainable programs in education, agriculture, micro-credit and vocational skill training. We involve the beneficiaries in project planning and implementation.
Long-Term, Self-Sustaining Results
HCA's goal is sustainability through strong local involvement, so that successful projects can be easily replicated. We strive to build customized programs with local partners by providing the necessary tools and resources to uphold success. Commitment to the partnership is vital and requires supportive relationships with frequent personal visits, assessments and ongoing mentoring.
HCA's strategic plan supports measures for strengthening local communities with a strong emphasis on sustainable project planning. It draws on the experience of knowledgeable local residents, the support of volunteers from other countries, and experts in the region.
